Here your official invitation to this year’s No Hustle November that I promised to send you last Tuesday!
The beautiful thing about No Hustle November is that it is an intention. It doesn’t matter that we are already ten days into November. No Hustle November doesn’t have to be a project nor does we need intensive planning to participate.
(Granted—many of us might truly need to strategically plan some rest/refill into our life. May I recommend the second half of The Life Mapping Workbook to help you create a strategy?)
So what is the intention behind No Hustle November? This year I wrote an imperfect short poem about my own intention to help me lean into this season. Instead of sending you to the information about No Hustle November right off the bat, I feel like this better represents where we are headed.
Please pay attention to what resonates with you.
No Hustle November - A Poem
It's the season to find rest
To push against what is second best
It's the season to restore and renew
For perfectionism to be eschewed
It's the season to embrace what's slow
It's from here what is good will flow
It is the season to come alive
To make impossible standards writhe
It's the season to embody my being
Even when the means not striving to be seen
It's the season to seek becoming whole
For the fray of life never ceases to push and pull
It's the season to restore our boundaries
For our "no's" actually set us free like keys
It's the season to soak in light like a prism
And rip out any internalized self-made capitalism
It's the season for my cup to be filled
After the soil of my soul has been prepared and tilled
It's the season to be authentically me
Otherwise burnout becomes the exorbitant fee
It's the season to be unimpressed with man's approval
To stand confident believing in our call
It's the season to ruthlessly eliminate hurry
Otherwise life demands that we never end our scurry
It's the season to hustle no more
"You're already enough!" The Spirit roars

No Hustle November Reflection
Which above stanza catches your attention? Is it on rest? Is it about scurrying? Is it about embodiment? Being authentic to your calling?
How can you move closer to aligning with wholeness in whichever area feels less-than, broken, not ideal?
How can you evaluate this area with candor without shame? Find grace in this space.
Is there anything God is challenging you to do in response? For the rest of this November (and beyond) you are invited to pursue wholeness in this area.
A Book: Living Slow
During the last No Hustle November, I intentionally chose a book to match the season to help us lean into it and grow. I liked this practice and decided to continue it this year.
As I read nonfiction books very slowly, this wasn’t to add to my list of things to do or to even finish, but picked up and meandered through as I had time. Authors can still be wise guides, having divided into specific areas more than I have, even if I don’t read all of their work.
(As you can tell, I said all of that to wrap the idea of reading a book for No Hustle November with extensive grace.)

This year’s book is Live Slowly: A Gentle Invitation to Exhale by Jodi H. Grubbs. (If you don’t want to read a book you can also learn from her here on IG or at her website.) We did have an interview with Jodi planned, but because she practices what she preaches, she realized she was over-committing and we decided to reschedule for the Spring.
Regardless, if you need a book to take into your season, join me reading (or sorta reading) Live Slowly and follow Jodi as a guide.
What is No Hustle November and How Do You Do It?
As I know many of you are still stuck on what exactly is No Hustle November and want to know exactly how join it, I bequeath you the story of its inception here. And although there is no right way to practice it, here you can also learn more about the two expectations attached to it
1.) The intention
2.) Modeling
Again, here is the page about No Hustle November. I hope you choose—to whatever extent—to dedicate yourself to this type of renewal and freedom through the rest of November!
